PT Grouts

US SPEC manufactures two grouts specifically for use in post-tension grouting applications.

NA GROUT:

High Flow, Non-Aggregate, Non-Shrink PT Grout

Purpose: NA Grout is designed to provide maximum flow, shrinkage compensation and extended working times in an aggregate free, thixotropic formulation. It is ideal for use where clearances are minimal and/or an extended working time is needed for maximum pumping range. NA Grout is non-metallic and non-corrosive.

Uses:  PT tendon grouting and grouting of tight clearances in areas inaccessible with standard non-shrink grouts.

Suggested Applications:

  • Tight clearances between precast segments, beam and columns in contact with stressed steel or cables
  • Anchor bolts, dowels and rods where sanded grouts restrict complete encapsulation
  • Areas around tensioned cables and tendons to encapsulate and maximize anchorage

NA-100:

High Flow, Bleed Resistant, Non-Aggregate, Non-Shrink PT Gtout

Purpose: NA-100 is designed to provide maximum flow, shrinkage compensation and extended working times in an aggregate free, thixotropic formulation. It is ideal for use where clearances are minimal and bleed stability under pressure is needed. NA-100 is non-metallic and non-corrosive.

Uses:  PT tendon grouting and grouting of tight clearances in areas inaccessible with standard non-shrink grouts.

Suggested Applications:

  • Vertical and horizontal post-tension grouting to provide complete encapsulation and protection from corrosion.
  • Grouting of tight clearances between precast segments, beam and columns in contact with stressed steel tendons or cables
  • Anchor bolts, dowels and rods where sanded grouts restrict complete encapsulation

US SPEC is a member of the American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI).  ASBI is a nonprofit organization that provides a forum where owners, designers, constructors, and suppliers can meet to further refine current design, construction and construction management procedures to advance the quality and use of concrete segmental bridges.

ASBI is a focal point of the development of technical information for segmental concrete bridges in the U.S. and countries around the world.  Segmental bridges are now a multi-billion dollar market in the U.S. with ASBI providing educational programs and publications in response to industry needs.

US SPEC's membership in ASBI is not solely to show our support for the bridge construction industry, but also to work in community with our customers.  Joining ASBI is exciting for us because it offers an opportunity to be a part of a larger community and for us to learn more about the industry so that we can become better at what we do.

Several US SPEC team members have completed the ASBI Grouting Certification Program.
