These photos are an overlay repair that was done on an improperly prepared substrate. When applying an overlay, it is critical to follow surface preparation guidelines. Mechanical abrasion to roughen in the surface is the best method. As shown in the photos, this material was applied over a painted surface. Cementitious materials will not stick to paint. Over the course of the winter, water infiltrated the system and freeze thaw took effect. The material popped off of the surface that was too smooth to bond to.
This will all need to be removed and replaced after properly preparing the surface. Surface preparation guidelines for all US SPEC products can be found on the data sheets.
